Better Balance Unmounted Workshop

  • Rattery Village Hall TQ10 England (map)

Leave your horses at home!
The Riding into Better Balance Team develop and deliver unmounted workshops to groups of riders in the South West, giving them the opportunity to learn about and improve themselves as riders, without their horse.
We know that when you’re riding, you’re so absorbed with the physical skills needed that often there is no time or headspace to take in any more information, so your riding almost becomes secondary to working on your horse. We want to change that.
Riding into Better Balance is a collaboration between two BHS Stage 4 Senior Coaches. Groups will work with each coach in turn.
With Andree, also an Advanced Centre10 Coach, this interactive workshop is to help understand the importance of our mindset and how our mind really does matter! We will begin by looking at how we talk to ourselves, and how this will affect how we think, feel and perform. This inner talk affects our self-belief and ability to have confidence in any task we take on. This is so important in horse riding whether that is competitive or for pleasure. We will uncover what confidence means. There will be practical exercises to learn, and we will carry out some simple techniques to use on and off the horse.
You will go away with lots of new exercises to try for yourself.
Make sure you bring a pen and paper – there will be notes to write!!

With Amanda, who is an Advanced Equipilates TM Biomechanics Trainer, Franklin Method Equestrian Pelvis Trainer and Franklin Ball Certified, helping riders find better posture and movement in the saddle.
Riders will come away with practical tips and cues to help them stay relaxed, confident and aligned in the saddle.
