All you need to know and more about our exciting Summer 2024 Camp !

To be held at : Pontispool Equestrian Centre, Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton TA4 1BH

Date : 23rd - 25th August 2024

Cost : £350 per horse and rider

Located in the picturesque countryside of Somerset, Pontispool Equestrian Centre is a premier destination for riders of all levels. With top-notch facilities including spacious indoor and outdoor arenas, cross-country courses, and well-maintained stabling, Pontispool offers the perfect environment for both training and competition.

Whether you're a beginner looking to improve your skills or a seasoned rider aiming for victory, Pontispool Equestrian Centre provides everything you need for a successful and enjoyable equine experience.

Facilities available and included in your camp :

  • 13000m2 all weather arena with full set of showjumps

  • Cross country course schooling areas on grass

  • Area for dressage arenas

  • Stables

  • Lockable tack rooms

  • Straw and hay for duration of stay

  • Accommodation in heated cabins with beds/bunk beds - (bring your own bedding)

  • Separate ladies and gents toilets and shower facilities

  • Cafe & TV

  • Outside covered benches

Additionally food is provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner (and includes refreshments and cake !). Vegetarians and coeliacs (gluten free diets) can be catered for in the advertised price with any other special requirements possible at an additional cost of £10 pppday.

Whats On -

Day One - Friday 23rd August

Arrive by 12midday with stables pre allocated.

Lunch and refreshments available.

Optional use of the gallops in the morning for those wanting to and arriving earlier.

Afternoon - first lesson with one of our BHS approved coaches - flatwork, show jumping, polework or cross country available

Evening - enjoy a prepared dinner and light entertainment or a presentation/talk.

Day Two - Saturday 24th August

Wake up to prepared breakfast, and get ready for the first lesson of the day.

Morning lessons for everyone - again from flatwork, showjumping or cross country.

Break for lunch and refreshments.

Enjoy the second lesson of the day in the afternoon, maybe something different for you and your equine.

Evening dinner after which we will have again either light entertainment or a presentation/talk.

Day Three - Sunday 25th August

After another enjoyable breakfast, first lessons will start.

The last lunch then with a break before the afternoon sessions.

Final lessons for everyone in the afternoon to really put all the weekend learning into practice !

There will be a BarBQ following final lessons with an awards presentation !

Althea Bleekman

Althea Bleekman is a dedicated and accomplished equestrian known for her precision in the show jumping arena. With a keen eye for detail and exceptional horsemanship skills, Althea consistently delivers impressive performances at various competitions. Her focus, determination, and passion for riding are evident in her consistent success in the sport.

Andrew Lovell

Andrew Lovell is a highly respected coach, known for his patience, expertise, and dedication to his students' progress. With years of experience in training riders of all levels, Andrew's supportive and encouraging teaching style inspires confidence and improvement in his students. Many riders credit Andrew for helping them achieve their riding goals and developing a deep passion for the sport.

Emily Farleigh

Teaching is not just Emily’s career it is her passion. She loves to help riders improve and achieve their goals. She competes at British Eventing and has ridden to Intermediate/CCI* level. She teaches for Riding Clubs, Pony Clubs, camps, private or group lessons of any age or ability.

Sam Osborne (Osborn Dressage)

Sam is an experience dressage rider with over 30 years experience coaching and competing. Sam competed at Young Riders internationally and is currently competing at PSG on her horse of a lifetime Henessy. Based in Somerset, her aim with her daughter, is to help you and your horse develop a harmonious, happy and responsive partnership.

Sarah Thorne

Sarah Thorne is a BHSI, BE Accredited Coach & PC Visiting Instructor, based near Ilminster in Somerset. Having Evented successfully up to International 4* Level, Sarah's renowned coaching methods mean her training sessions are constructive and realistic, with an emphasis on fun. Creating and improving confidence and technique in both horse and rider, whilst gently nudging the boundaries of comfort.
